We all know the iPad 3 is coming in the year 2012, just don’t know exactly when during the year.  Spring is usually the Apple announcement time for new products and the latest rumors point to a March announcement about the much anticipated iPad 3.

iPad 3 might have a dual-core A6 vs a quad-core A6

The recent release of a possible iPad 3 body hints at an obviously faster processor and bigger battery.  However, not everyone is convinced that the iPad 3 will be sporting a quad-core processor.  The iPad 3 processor could just be a speedier A6 which would probably put it close to a quad core processor speed anyway.

Usually the iPads and iPhones get thinner with each generation, well it looks like the iPad 3 might break that trend because of the higher resolution display and processor needs a larger battery to keep the run time up around 10 hours.  It’s possible that the iPad 3 might be 1-3mm thicker then the already super thin iPad 2.  This is probably not a big deal to most people as the iPad 2 is incredibly thin and customers would rather have a better battery life then a 2mm thinner tablet.
